Current Cold Snap Causing A Delayed Start On Tuesday

Weather conditions possible delay or closure of campuses or offices.
Mr. Conrado Garcia, Superintendent of Schools for West Oso ISD has been monitoring the latest weather reports regarding the cold weather that is forecasted for the next few days. As scheduled, Monday, February 15, 2021 is a student holiday and a Staff Development Day for West Oso ISD Staff.
Based on the latest weather information and in order to ensure the safety of staff for that day, all campuses and offices will be CLOSED on Monday, February 15, 2021. All staff will report for district and campus staff development REMOTELY and office staff will also work REMOTELY.
On Tuesday, February 16, 2021, West Oso ISD will delay the opening of schools and offices until 10:00 am for staff.
On Tuesday, February 16, 2021campus schedules for students are as follows:
- JFK Elementary Grades PK-2 will open at 10:00 am.
Buses will begin picking up students 2 hours after their normal pick up time.
- West Oso Elementary School Grades 3-5 will open at 10:00 am. Buses will begin picking up students 2 hours after their normal pick up time.
- West Oso Junior High School Grades 6-8 will open at 10:45 am. Buses will begin picking up students 2 hours after their normal pick up time.
- West Oso High School Grades 9-12 will open at 10:45 am.
Buses will begin picking up students 2 hours after their normal pick up time.
In the event campuses and offices will continue to be closed on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, parents and staff will be notified on transition to remote learning or working remotely due to continued inclement weather. This decision will be made between 6:00- 6:30 a.m. on that Tuesday morning.

Official announcements regarding delays and or closings will be made on Channel 3, 6 & 10 and Spanish station Entravision.
