The Lady Bears found a new softball Coach!
After coaching last year at John Paul II, Delilah Pacheco transferred to be the head coach for the West Oso Lady Bears Softball team, the staff thinks that they have found a perfect fit for the team. After playing softball herself at the University of Utah, Pacheco took the Head Coach position at West Oso to change the outlook on the Lady Bears Softball team.
“It’s time people put respect on Oso Softball, and I’m here to change that. The team looks pretty good and I’m excited to be working with these girls,” states Pacheco.
Pacheco is expecting to have a great season with returners Hailey Calamaco Sr., Angelica Vela Jr., Alyssa Montelongo Jr., and Sophmore Daisy Mendiola. The West Oso Coach is excited about transfer Francine Rodriquez, 11. Although Pacheco believes that the team’s defense will need work considering that the returning starters list is very short. She thinks that because the sophomores on the team are eager to learn that they will overcome their defensive struggles.
The schedule is set for success for the Lady Bears. The Ladies’ will get an early look at their district opponents in an early tournament at Odem. The district game the team is looking forward to the most is their matches with Miller.
